Please Help Me Help The Schools

Buy Candles with Box Tops
You can buy any item of ValerieEssentials from NanasNikNaks or  from my shop. Your choice on which set, color and scent!

If you don't know what Box Tops are look at this LINK and it will tell you all the foods you can get the Box Tops off of.
Another way you can help the schools is: Link your Vic Card (Card from Harris Teeter) to school 5354 and 4 other schools! You can link your Vic Card up to 5 schools! You can enter them on line of just tell your cashier at Harris Teeter.

You can also Save the Harris Teeter milk caps... Yes Milk tops from your Harris Teeter Milk!

Thank so much in advance for supporting our school system. With all the cuts this year they need all the breaks they can get. And with my little one in school now it means a lot to me that you will help. Thanks again to you!

Schools need our help and every little bit helps. Our school (EndHaven- 5354) didn't have smart boards until the beginning of this year. However the school could only get 3. They are striving to get more this year. My daughters 1st grade doesn't even have school books!

When a school is new, for the first 5 years (I think) they get help from the state. BUT after that they are on their own (pretty much) with the exception of donations, fund raisers (Fun Run, Book Sale...) and help from Box Tops and the Harris Teeter milk caps.

Schools end up getting cuts many times a years. We are losing great teachers and money for the schools. How is our Country suppose to strive when they are making it so difficult to raise bright children to run our country for the future?

FUNNY E-Mail From my sister!

This is just too funny! I was crying while reading this~ Enjoy...
Please tell me I'm not the only one with tooth fairy woo's. That is one role I can not seem to manage! I always forget! Thank goodness they know it's me so I get forgiven as long as I sneek in the goods at some point! I'm so bad at it! I do remember sometimes, but with Jackson I know atleast out of the 8 teeth he has lost I have been remembering at the last minute atleast half of those times. To the point even of him asking if he didn't get any money.... 'did u look good?' ... as i help him 'look' and discreetly drop something behind the top of his bed..... 'maybe your pillow pushed it off'..... or even more creative once..... did you look good.... snuck a piece of paper by the edge of his blanket/pillow... indicating a scavenger hunt in his room for the prize (of course quickly stuck in there as he was downstairs in the am and I remembered I forgot). and don't forget suddenly waking at 4 am paniked and fumbling for coins and sneaking them in hoping not to wake the early bird.

Well...... never before has daddy had anything to do with it..... BUT..... let's just say somehow Cooper raked up! Again, mommy forgot! He slept a little later this am and I was downstairs 8:00. I went up to make sure the ringer in the bedroom was still off (so I could enjoy a little more quiet time .. but J was up).. I met cooper in the hall and he suddenly remembered and said 'oh, i have to check something' ..... my eyes got hugh ' uh, I need you to first go tell Jackson you are up because he was trying to keep the phone from ringing and waking you. just let him know it's ok since you are up then you can come back up.' can you believe he bought that? so i go running crazy to hope to find some change upstairs to shove in there before he runs back up. I find 6 quarters and think hurray, and yes, a bit much but first tooth... whatever, hurry get it in his room. whew! did it!

Casually get back downstairs as he is fumbling in his room. He comes down smiling with a dollar bill and 6 quarters!
Either the tooth fairy visited or for once daddy saved me (but forgot to tell me) : )
Now he has lost another tooth... I wonder how much the tooth fairy gave him for that tooth~lol (Since they were just a few days apart from coming out).

Another First

Well in one weeks time (pretty much) a lot of firsts have/ will have happened:

First my youngest learned she can climb over her baby gate if she packs enough stuff in her babies crib!
Can't tell you had excited I am about this-lol

And my oldest has her first loose tooth! She asked if her tooth was loose? I told her no but I'll check anyway, since my nephew (who is the same age- 6 1/2 weeks older) has lost 2 teeth now! AND it was!
Also she starts school this year! So are her cousins (twins- boy, girl). So 3 are starting school this year! WOW! Time flies!
Girls are growing up sooo fast.

A Great Team

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the wonderful team I am on- Collaborators In Cahoots Team.
It is wonderful to know that people you care about and value have your back (as you do theirs) and are always there. They step up when you need help (craft-wise, team or as a friend). What special people I have with me on this team!
I use to think you put your craft items on etsy or ArtFire and that was it. I soon learned through a great friend (Gayle- WhatsHerName) that there was so much more! Thanks to Gayle I have been on 2 wonderful teams, sold in great craft shows & have met some amazing people (including her)

Here you will see great artists and crafters from all over the world! Our site is a friendly place for collaborating, chatting & promoting. Land & water may separate us but our crafts & compassion unite us.
Donald (CandleGuy) did this first avatar when out team paged was set up. We collaborated and with in a few hours he had it down in what was in our minds! WONDERFUL!

This one we use for our shops. It was a collaboration by Melissa (PromoPixie) and Olivia (OliviaOlivia). Is this great or what! Great minds think a like! And we have a lot of great minds!

Linda (LindaButterfly) started this group as a thread on etsy back in January 2009. We grew and grew. So we created a Team Page on ning and continued to grow. We are a true team in so many other ways!

We are all here to help (anyone, team member or not) and promote ourselves as one another. We do not judge but nudge one another to grow (in our craft, shops and ourselves).

Feel free to stop by and check us out. Page, Blog & Shop

My Mom

We had a great time at the beach for my mom's _ _th birthday. All she wanted for her birthday was to have a girls time at the beach. We'll we had slightly different plans.

Mom thought it was going to be me, Bonnie (my aunt) and her going to the beach. Well I invited Veda (her best friend, in yellow) and Lindsay (my sister-in-law, in blue). And of course her boss, his wife and their niece and nephew! Trust me her boss and his wife are wonderful people to hang with. The only rule: You must wear your crown (or green hair) while parting (not like we did in college).

Mom's boss's nephew even got in to it!

This is Veda crowning the bosses wife and getting her ready.

The boss was a great sport for wearing the green hair. A crown just wouldn't look as nice- lol. These are wonderful people!

We had such a great time! Happy Birthday Mom! I Love You!
Check out my flickr page to see more pictures.
And check out my mom's new etsy shop- We are just now getting it up and running.
